Data Analyst/Software Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Analyst/Software Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in both data analysis and software engineering, and will be responsible for:

● designing, developing, and maintaining data-driven systems and applications. ● analyzing and interpreting complex data sets to inform program development, monitoring, and evaluation.

The Data Analyst/Software Engineer will work closely with National Security and Global Health teams to support data-driven decision making and program improvement.

  • Collect, clean, and prepare data for analysis
  • Conduct statistical analysis and data visualization using SQL and Python
  • Use data to identify trends, patterns, and insights
  • Develop and maintain databases and data systems
  • Design and implement data-driven systems and applications
  • Test and debug code
  • Provide support to team members in the use of data for decision making
  • Communicate findings and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders
  • Stay up-to-date with advances in data analysis and software engineering techniques
  • Knowledge of Oracle databases is a nice-to-have
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., statistics, computer science, software engineering)
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in both data analysis and software engineering
  • Strong skills in data visualization and statistical analysis using SQL and Python
  • Experience with data management and database systems
  • Strong programming skills in at least one programming language (e.g. Python, Java, Rust)
  • Knowledge of software development methodologies and best practices
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to work with large, complex data sets
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
