Data Analyst
Build data pipelines and visualize complex data.

Macro-Eyes is recruiting a Data Analyst to build data pipelines and visualize complex data. You will structure data sets and implement data pipelines from start to finish. Your work will be the foundation for state of the art machine learning. Here's the context: We are often called upon to deploy Macro-Eyes technology in extremely challenging environments where uncertainty is the constant and data is sparse and inconsistent, spread across multiple, different sources. This is not conventional data preparation. You will be instrumental in bringing new tools and new methodologies to the foundational elements of machine learning and the creation of truly data-driven systems. Your work will accelerate the deployment of machine learning for crucial systems. What you build will allow decision makers to more effectively allocate resources, saving lives and extending the impact of scarce resources.

If this opportunity is exciting, please apply here.

MACRO-EYES technology makes crucial systems predictive. Predictive systems are resilient, enabling our customers to save lives and extend the impact of scarce resources. We have a mandate to deliver social impact, global presence and an international machine learning team led by MIT faculty. The Macro-Eyes team has built and shipped cutting-edge machine learning systems that run at large US health systems and on-device in the most challenging environments in the world. Macro-Eyes is supported by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the Draper Richards Kaplan Foundation, and USAID and has partnered with Stanford, UNICEF, the Government of Tanzania, the Government of Mozambique, the Government of Sierra Leone, and Direct Relief. Accenture spotlighted Macro-Eyes product Sibyl as critical digital health technology of the future.

Radical innovation is at our core.

Our optimistic vision for the future of health is based around a simple thesis: fast-emerging countries will relentlessly, often brilliantly, skip the present and jump to the future of how health care is conceived and delivered. Our aim is to prove that the first health system with AI at its core will be in the developing world. Our work together will advance the frontier of machine learning and health, bringing the most advanced technology solutions in the world to where they are needed most.

The Data Analyst will report to the Director of Machine Learning Operations and collaborate with designers, software engineers and machine learning scientists.

  1. Gather data: Mine data from primary and secondary sources, reorganizing data in a format that can be easily read by either human or machine.
  2. Clean data: identify, evaluate and implement external services and tools to support data validation and cleansing. Set up and maintain automated data processes.
  3. Model and Interpret data: Use statistical tools to interpret data sets, paying particular attention to trends and patterns that could be valuable for Machine Learning and analytics efforts.
  4. Present: Communicating the results of your findings will be a key part of your job. Create data dashboards, graphs and visualizations.
  5. Grow into a Data Engineer.
  • 1 to 2 years in similar role.
  • Health industry experience.

Education

  • 3-year diploma or higher in the related field of study

We’re excited if you also have these capabilities:

  • Web scraping tools.
  • Docker.
