Monika Obrocka, PhD
Director of Machine Learning Operations
Monika Obrocka, PhD is Director of Machine Learning Operations at macro-eyes. With a PhD in Radio Astronomy from the University of Manchester, Monika has experience leading the adoption of new collaborative platforms and cutting edge Deep Learning frameworks in healthcare. Inspired by her doctoral work, she worked with the South African Radio Astronomy Observatory (SARAO) where she collaborated with IBM Research Africa and SETI Breakthrough Listen at UC Berkeley developing computationally efficient observational techniques to detect millisecond long radio bursts, caused by not yet understood high-energy cosmic phenomenon.
Her journey to the digital health space began in 2018 when she joined the Patient Engagement Lab project where she led the design and delivery of innovative experiments run across mobile platforms focusing on understanding and driving health behavior change at scale in Maternal Newborn and Child Health and Adolescents Sexual and Reproductive Health.
Her research interests include natural language processing in low resource settings and the use of conversational agents in healthcare.
